I’m sure you’ve heard of Dribbble: The answer for “What are you working on” question.

I’ve been using it for a few months now & as a user (Oh are you using it too? Follow me here), I felt like it needed some improvements. Not everyone may need these modifications but I sure do.

So what does the Dribbb(b)le extension do?

It does two things:

• First of all since it’s a design community, we can safely assume that all the users will have high screen resolutions. So, I‘m increasing the width of it. From 940px to 1104px. Why 1104px? Because it’s the best width for #2.
• My second (and last for now) improvement is killing all the thumbnails on Dribbble. Why? Because, I think we don’t need them. 400x300px is the maximum size of a work. It’s small enough. Why make them smaller and lose all the magic? I mean thumbnails do not tell anything, do not show any details and most of the time, they kill all the details. That’s why I kill them & replace with bigger versions of shots (with javascript).

A few notes…

I actually requested these features from Dan, but he kindly said no. Since I do not know their plans for the future or the problems they’re experiencing, I’d say he’s right. But what can I do, I’m a bad bad user :) If I’m making anything harder for them: I’m sorry.

Creating a Safari Extension… is unbelievably easy. If you know some JavaScript and/or CSS, you can do almost anything with it.

Don’t know how to enable extensions on Safari? Now you know.

Future of this extension? You tell me. While using Dribbble everyday, these two were the only things I experienced.

It is really exciting to announce your newest project on your brand new blog.

Personally, I love Twitter and what it yields. One of them is learning things that you don’t know. A friend of mine, Baturalp Torun, and I were talking about these benefits twitter had and he said he wanted to build something to get all tips on Twitter about every topic into one place. It was a great idea when you think about it. You can get these tweets by searching Twitter on its own search engine but it is really temporary. So we started to work on it.   »
